History

Why is it called  Stable Gallery? Despite its name, there’s no evidence to suggest the space was ever used as a stable for horses. Instead, the name might be a nod to the horses that once drew prison vans to the building’s courtyards. The gallery’s name is a mystery, but its rich history is clear. From its origins as a heating chamber to its role as an air raid shelter during WWII, the space has adapted and evolved over time. Today, the Stable Gallery continues this tradition, hosting a variety of exhibitions and experiences.
