Stable Gallery: Liverpool’s Crowning Culture

St George’s Hall’s Sable Gallery’s first exhibition, Liverpool’s Crowning Culture, will run from 17th April to 15th May, open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm.
It is a powerful celebration of Black culture within Liverpool — exploring themes of identity, heritage, and creativity through a vibrant and thought-provoking collection of art, costume, and storytelling.
The exhibit invites reflection on the profound significance of Afro hair as a symbol of cultural pride and resilience, while African costumes celebrate the vibrancy of heritage and tradition. This unique exhibition shines a spotlight on the beauty and significance of Afro hair artistry, alongside vibrant African costumes, and insights into styling workshops. It redefines modern identity and challenges historical narratives, with each piece blending history with hope, showcasing the transformative power of art and activism.
